CHALLENGE ISTRUCTION
The Offshore Race Club Italy a.s.d., under the sponsorship of Italian Powerboat Federation, CONI, with the hospitality of Marina of Rome (Ostia) and the company’s Blue Shipyard Ltd., under the auspices of Lazio Region Department of Relations with Institutions Local Policies and Security, Rome Capital Department for Productive Activities, Labor and Waterfront, District XIII of Rome, ConfCommercio, with the invaluable support of Coast Guard and Police, Financial Police Naval Operations Group, State Police, organizes an offshore powerboat race Marathon Rally, on the route Marina of Rome (Ostia) – Ponza – Marina of Rome (Ostia).
The technical rules applicable to the identification of membership categories of the hull crafts is published on the UIM website (see www.uimpowerboating.com Link Offshore Rule – pag.304-323).
CHALLENGE CONCEPT
The race is called “ROME OFFSHORE SPEED RACE 2012″
This one-day race, Saturday 21, developes this route:
Marina of Rome/Ostia - Anzio - Ponza Island Circumnavigation - Zannone Island Circumnavigation - Faro del Circeo - Marina of Rome, for a total of 135 Mn.
The competition will take place with the method Marathon Rally: powerboats will start with a 4′ interval, with ranking based on speed / power estimates for the eligible categories (the slowest starts for the first, the faster for the last), is reserved for monohull sport boats, according to the rules published by the National Federation of Italian Powerboat / UIM, where this type of long distance races are reserved for monohull sport boats, duly registered in shipping and national federations registers, in sea areas open to navigation.
Therefore, these competitions are be carried out by crews in full compliance with the Navigation Rules, the competitors / drivers of each boat must be in possession of nautical license (valid) in addition to the regular pilot license issued by the Italian Powerboat Federation or National Federation belonging to foreign pilots recognized by UIM and documentation / certification Tonnage sports use to verify compliance with competition.
The maximum number of boats allowed in the race is 10 units.
Rome Offshore Race Speed adopts the rules promulgated by the FIM.

SUBSCRIPTION
Registration for the “Rome Offshore Speed Race 2012″ does not include any fee to the Organizing Committee this year. Registration forms (downloadable from the web) should be sent to the Organizing Committee and the Italian Powerboat Federation, duly completed by July 9, 2012 mail to: info@clubitaliaoffshore.it and gare@fimconi.it.
The traceability system, required to be installed on each participating boat, will be rented EUR 500.00 € + VAT.
